About
Brandon R. Jauregui is an interdisciplinary artist primarily working in oil on canvas. He is currently based in San Diego, CA, with deep roots in Tijuana, MX, and San Francisco, CA. Brandon earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute.
His practice spans a range of genres and techniques, from minimalism and surrealism to explorations in color theory. Brandon’s current body of work focuses on the untamed natural landscapes of the Pacific Southwest, often incorporating bold, saturated colors and iconic San Diego landmarks. His stylistic range varies from detailed representations to expressive abstraction. Through loose brushstrokes and evocative subject matter, Brandon blurs the boundary between figurative and abstract expressionism.
"I strive to capture the essence of what’s in front of me through the relationship between light and object to subject. This process allows me to be present—and then later, to arrive fully in the work. The push and pull between what’s recognizable and what’s abstract is particularly exciting to me. It's a space I find myself returning to throughout this series."

Fine Art Painting
It is through the interplay of color and form that meaning is unearthed, revealing truths of forever unfolding events in our memory and consciousness. Drawing from the visual language of surrealism, these compositions refer to a dream-like quality that transcends the familiarity of our physical world and leads us to wander beyond this realm.
Brandon employs light, textures, form, and oil as narrative membrane to arrive at his envisioned allegory.
Considering here the word ‘miracle’ … the moment in which an other world intersects with our own.
In these series from The Persistence of Light in Echoing Hallows, spheres, landscapes and portals become working parts of a greater functioning organism inherent within these works. Drifting across a self-mythicized ecosystem of narratives. These visual tales shape a constellation of works mending time, memory, and threads of storytelling.
